Fox and Universal cut funding for Halo movie. Jon Polito casted as Master Chief?

Universal and 20th Century Fox today have announced that they will not be funding the Halo movie. The movie was estimated to cost around $135 million; however, apperently the price rose to an even higher amount of $200 million. Peter Jackson is still working on pre-production material, despite this rather large set back.

According to Kotaku, Jon Polito will play the role of Master Chief. This was defenantly not my first choice, or my second, but maybe they have something up there sleeve.
