The Outfit - First Impressions
Well, yesterday I downloaded The Outfit demo, and played several games. Well, for one thing I personally really like the game, not enough to buy at launch, but definently worth it when it drops down in price.
What I liked about the game was the strategic factor that it blending with the third-person action. I have never played a game similar to this unqiue game, its one of a kind. The strategic factor of this game, is to capture all points on the map, whilst using an array of vehicles, tanks, and turrets. Thats not to mention the artliery strike, and the weapons you already have on your character. You given are given the chance to pick your character at the start of the game. There are three characters for each side, which having varying strength in different areas. Some of the stats include purchasing, which ties in to the cost for your purchases (Purchasing is brought up by the Y button), and there is health, which is fairly self explanatory. There are two others I believe; however, I cannot remeber them right now.
The controls are well crafted for the game, although driving a vehicle and tank are hard to get used to at first. At least I found the first couple of times driving around a vehicle quite difficult, seeing I am not used to playing third-person. Overall, the controls are great.
Graphics in general are nothing out of the ordinary, but it really doesn't matter, unless your a graphics whore. The graphics are simply average, and sometimes there were slight graphics flickers or glitches, but nothing to serious. Anything dealing with flickering, or other graphical glitches will be rare to find in the final build. There was also a great deal of lag when I played. I would get "The connection is being interupted" every 30 seconds. I did not disconnect from the game;however, the lag was almost impossible to play with. In saying this, I did play several that the lag was dismal, almost no where to be seen.
Last but not least, there are three choices for the player in this demo, all of which deal with the multiplayer portion of the game. You can choose from:
- Head to Head
- Two on Two
- Three on Three
To conclude, I definitely think this game has some great potential and is definitely worth the download. It is not a big file, approximately 450MB which is a generous file size seeing some demos weigh to be almost 1 GB.
