Full Auto, In depth Analysis
Personally I love the game; however, there are visible flaws in the gameplay. But I am writing this review to lay both the good and the bad on the table. The career mode, which allows you to play numourous events, starts you off with some tutorials. The tutorials walk through several different objects you will have to use in the game. Such as nitro, the unwreck meter, the weapons, and the controls that will allow you to drive like a pro. The career mode is quite good, and supplies the player with an abudence of events, which are organized into a series. Each series evokes a different playing style.
In the career mode, the goals of the events fluctuate; however, the main goal usually never changes, win the race in 1st. For the most part, you usually have to get in 1st to get the maximum rewards for the event, and a high wreck rating (Which is achieved through distroying buildings, and surrounding enviroment). This adds a sort of repetitive feel to the game overall. To achive this first place that one should yearn for, when playing Full Auto, you have several objets at your dispsal: nitro, unwreck meter, and the weapons you are given. Nitro can be obtained through power sliding or hitting large ramps. The unwreck meter is given through destruction, wether that be a enemy or a building, you decided. The weapons are in sets, that are chosen at the beginning of a event. Usually there is a front weapon and rear weapon, i.e. the shotgun and grenade combo.
The online experience wasn't anything out of the ordinary, and it wasn't all that appealing. Its basically the same old thing, except you cannot use the unwreck meter. You can't use the unwreck meter in multiplayer. The bottom line is the online play is not to great.
Personally I think the occasional drop in frame rate is not that serious, and I think this will always be a game that you will come back to, to play with friends. One really annoying glitch in this game is the no custom tracks glitch. When you are playing your custom tracks, and a loading time starts, it brings back the Full Auto sound track, which in its self is not spectacular. All in all, would I buy the game? Honestly, I would buy this game, but not at its launch time. If you are thinking about buying this game, I would wait for a price drop, or pick it up used.
Pros:
- The Unwreck Meter
- Highly Destructable Enviroments
- Explosion Effects
- Good-looking Chassis Damage
- Career Mode (Lots of events)
- Frame rate some times bogs down
- Annoying glitch prevents from playing custom soundtracks
Score: 8.0 - Good
Thanks to M80 for supplying with a copy of Full Auto, so that I could stick up this review.
