My Take on Perfect Dark Zero

If I was to summarize PDZ in one word, many come to mind. But one word in my mind stands out, spectacular. This game is nothing short of the word. There are so many elements in this game, that were worked to perfection. Rare, as usually did an amazing job, on both there launch titles, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Perfect Dark Zero.

Well, PDZ, for one thing start you off in a training facility as most of you well know. This is an appropriate start to help the player get a feel for the controls, and to get a feel for some of the opstacles that will lie ahead. For instance, hacking locks, etc...

Many, many, many things in the game are done extremly well. For instance, the cover system, allows you to cover behind almost an solid object. This gives you an upper hand on the foe, due to the amount of protection that is handed to you and the element of suprise that can be supplied. I also really like the function of the L button in some cases, with weapons paticulary without scope. The L Button, hones your aim by slowing your sensitivity and centering your weapon in the center of the screen. This helps a great deal to get those headshots, but not to much. The no jumping, adds a old-school feel to the game, this is a really neat concept. Rare returns to the roots, from there old FPS predicessors, Golden-Eye, and the original Perfect Dark.

On to the gun selection, which in one word is magnificent. Rare, did a wonderful thing. They took many of the old guns from PD, and fused some together while keeping some the same. For instance, the Laptop Gun is the same is always, just a new look, which is nice. But, mines, for instance, now have both the proximity function and the remote function, which makes perfect sense.

Overall, the campaign is great, can't say much for the story. But who needs story when your taking out armed foes, with cool weapons. As for the multiplayer expierence, currently its the best to date for the Xbox 360. It is definently a must buy for any FPS fan.
